The closure is part of the Valley View Interchange expansion phase of the freeway widening project.

Freeway Construction Update- Road and ramp closures will be the new norm

LA MIRADA-  Demolition on the west Valley View Avenue bridge over Interstate-5 was completed last week reducing traffic to one lane in each direction on the remaining eastern bridge.
In the same area the southbound off-ramp onto Firestone Blvd (adjacent to the former Denny's) has been closed.  Caltrans recommends southbound motorists use either the Carmenita Road or Artesia Blvd/Knott Avenue exits.

Both the ramp and lane reductions are expected to last about two years.

Later this month or early Match will bring the closure of the temporary northbound on-ramp from Freeway Drive located south of Alondra Blvd will permanently close.

Caltrans recommends motorists exit at Artesia Blvd onto Firestone Blvd North to Trojan Way up to Alondra Blvd.

A second temporary northbound on-ramp beginning at Valley View Avenue will be built in the near future to replace the closed ramp.

Caltrans also announced that Firestone Blvd south is closed at the Coyote Creek (located near Camping World) for the next four to six months for utility line relocation.

Completion on the $613 million La Mirada portion of the freeway project is expected to be completed in Late 2019.
