Forecast: Weather to remain hot and sticky in the 90's into weekend

Heat wave next week will send mercury above 100.


La Mirada-  The National Weather Service handed down bad news early this morning.

It may be hot sticky and unbearable, but it going to get a whole lot worse next week as a strong high-pressure system will park itself over the state next Tuesday and push daytime highs past the century mark.

There is a bit of good news.  La Mirada will cool off by a degree or two into Saturday when it is expected to in the Upper 80's for the first time since July 21.

Wednesday it was 95 in La Mirada and a high of 93 is expected today, then slightly cooler on Friday with a daytime temperature of 90.

Overnight lows will be close to 70 each night.
