Moisture advancing ahead of a cold front moving slowly from the north was the culprit behind occasional periods of light rain showers Thursday night, recording .02" on the wet stuff.
The chance of rain increases to 100% overnight Friday morning as the front is expected to pass over La Mirada at around 3 am., leaving up to 1/2 an inch of rain before it departs.
A chance of a weaker rain event is still possible Saturday.
