Storm front to move into area overnight

The fourth winter cold front in less than a week will move in overnight tonight bringing more rain and wind while continuing to shun the arrival of Spring.

Rain still located north of Santa Barbara as of 5pm. is expected to arrive locally between 2am. and 3am. with only lingering showers most of Friday after sunrise.

Forecasters believe we can expect 1/4 to 1/2 an inch of rain from this system to extend what is turning out to be a wetter than average March.

The system that moved through the area Wednesday evening left .56" before moving on bringing the March 2011 rainfall to date at 3.62", well above the 2.3" norm for this date.

A weaker system may possibly drop far enough south to bring a chance of light rain or showers late Saturday or Sunday, followed by a return to a more seasonal pattern midweek with temps possibly being pushed into the 80's by a Santa Ana condition.
