LA MIRADA- A man attempting to run across a darkened stretch of roadway was fatally struck by a passenger vehicle early Thursday morning on Valley View Avenue near Adoree Street.
The man who was pronounced dead at the scene, attempted to cross Valley View but was struck by a northbound passenger vehicle in the lane nearest the center median.
All northbound lanes of Valley View Ave were closed from Foster Road to Imperial Hwy for several hours during the morning commute as Sheriff's traffic investigators processed the scene and pending arrival of Coroner's officials.
The identity of the deceased is still pending.
****UPDATE****
One of the drivers that was involved fled the scene in a blue passenger vehicle described as a possible Toyota Camry or similar.
The vehicle was last seen continuing north on Valley View Ave from Imperial Highway into South Whittier.
Officials were still witholding identity of the man killed in this morning's incident as of early Thursday afternoon.

The man who died in this morning's accident has been identified as Jingyu Park, 90, of La Mirada.
