La Mirada woman identified as victim in Long Beach murder

LONG BEACH- The body of a woman found shot to death Monday morning on a parkway has been identified as a 27 year-old La Mirada woman.

A passerby found the body of Heather Broadus laying on a North Long Beach parkway in the 300 block of East 56th Street at approximately 6:30 a.m.

Broadus had been shot several times.

Preliminary information pieced together by detectives suggests that the shooting likely occurred late Sunday night.

Long Beach 911 received no reports of shots fired in the area late Sunday or early Monday up until the discovery of the victims body was reported.

An investigation to determine a suspect(s) or motive is ongoing.
