Another heat wave expected over next several days
Sunny hot days and mild nights will be the rule well into the weekend as a high pressure system continues to build gradually with daytime highs creeping back to above normal tomorrow.
The National Weather Service office in Oxnard issued a special weather statement saying the upcoming heat wave could see temps go past 100 degrees on the hottest days, Thursday and Friday.
Sunday will see first of two systems that will cool the Gateway Cities area. The second arriving on Tuesday or Wednesday will drop temps even lower, possibly as much as ten degrees below average.
The high today (Sept 1) in La Mirada was 85 following an overnight low of 59. Tuesday's high was 83.

Tonight: Mostly clear. West southwest wind between 5 and 10 mph becoming calm. Low 64.
Thursday: Sunny. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph. High 95.
Thursday Night: Mostly clear. West wind between 5 and 10 mph becoming calm. Low 66.
Friday: Sunny and hot. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph. High 97.
