La Mirada Sheriff's Crime Blotter
The crime activity spike that started out the month of September appears to have abated with activity back to normal.
Most of the early month crime was associated to victim's vehicles being stolen or stolen from.
The following is a selection among the varied police activities locally:
Sunday Sept 12
11:00 p.m. A vehicle was reported stolen in the 12300 block of La Mirada Blvd.
In the East Whittier area adjoining La Mirada the following incidents were reported to deputies:
Sat Sept 11
12:07 p.m. A domestic dispute was reported in the 12000 block of Kessock Avenue, the male party was reported to have left the residence with a loaded handgun. The man appeared a short time later at the Norwalk Sheriff's Station a short time later without incident. The firearm was surrendered for a state-mandated cooling off period, and no charges are expected.
Sun Sept 12
9:50 a.m. A vehicle was reported stolen in the 15500 block of Woodcrest Drive
Mon Sept 13 3:45 p.m. An assault (non-sexual) against a child was reported in the 12100 block of Edgeworth Ave.
In the portion of unincorporated La Mirada in Orange County OCSD deputies responded to the following:
Sat Sept 11
10:08 p.m. A report of a suspicous vehicle in the 4600 Fairhope Dr, no crime located.
Tues Sept. 14
7:31 a.m. A burglar alarm activation was reported in the 4700 block of Fairhope Dr.
