LA MIRADA- A lone male entered a La Mirada bank Tuesday with a demand note and fled after obtaining cash from a teller shortly after 3 p.m. at the Bank of the West at 12709 Valley View Ave, near Imperial Hwy.
Sheriff's officials described the suspect as heavy set, wearing sunglasses, and a goatee.
The amount of cash obtained was not disclosed, and is being kept confidential as an investigation key.
Today's robbery comes one day after the arrest of the serial bank robber dubbed by the FBI as the 'Balding Bandit'.
Gary Steven Platis, 44, of East Whittier was arrested Monday morning in connection with robbing three La Mirada banks over several months including last week at the Banco Popular at 12323 La Mirada Blvd.
Platis is schedule for arragnement Wednesday morning at Downey Superior Court.
