Arrest made in Fiery La Mirada Hit-and-Run
Suspect walked away from crash and kept walking
Sheriff's deputies arrested a man Labor Day morning after his car burst into flames after colliding with a power pole then walking away from the scene.
The suspect and a female passenger were both uninjured in the accident at Imperial Hwy and Tigrina Avenue at about 8:45 a.m. Monday.
When firefighters from the new Beach Blvd. station arrived the car was well involved with fire.
Witnesses told deputies the suspect had walked away from the area with a female.
The suspect was taken into custody about 15 minutes later while walking northbound on First Avenue north of the Chiropractic College after a citizen reported spotting him still in the area.
The suspect's name or additional details were not immediately available pending further investigation.
