work called authorities after finding the girl wandering alone near the busy intersection of La Mirada Blvd. and Tacuba Drive at about 10:15 a.m.

Deputies assisted by La Mirada Public Safety were able to reunite the girl with her mother about 30 minutes later they were able to locate a neighbor that recognized the girl leading and knew where she lived.

The family told deputies the girl was being watched by an aunt and she slipped out of the home unnoticed.  

After finding the girl healthy and unharmed it was determined that the circumstances behind the incident did not call for any further police action other than a routine notification to DCFS, the county agency commonly referred to as Children's Services.
