9:00 p.m. A shoplifting arrest was made in the 15800 block of Imperial Hwy.
Wednesday, Aug. 22
3:25 a.m. Several vehicle batteries were taken overnight from a business in the 14200 block of Alondra Blvd.
1:00 p.m. A house was ransacked after the suspect kicked in a door in the 13600 block of Duffield Ave. Nothing was found missing.
4:50 p.m. An assault was reported in the 11900 block of La Mirada Blvd.
Friday, Aug. 24
3:27 a.m. An arrest was for driving impaired was made at Valley View Ave and Firestone Blvd.
Saturday, Aug. 25
9:45 p.m. Items were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 15900 block of Bluefield Ave.
Sunday, Aug. 26
5:38 p.m. Two women were arrested at the AM/Pm at Valley View Ave and Alondra Blvd for shoplifting. The women were arrested outside the store after remaining on the property outside the store and not aware deputies were on the way.
7:22 p.m. Felony vandalism was reported in the 13900 block of Imperial Hwy.
9:11 p.m. Aamer Hijazi, 21, was arrested at Rosecrans Av and Santa Gertrudes Av for DUI after toppling a power pole after witnesses reported he was driving recklessly and possibly racing another driver. Hijazi attempted to fight with onlookers that ending up holding on to Hijazi when he attempted to flee.
The suspect who had admitted to smoking methamphetamine also was combative with the first arriving deputy.
Hijazi was treated at UCI for his injuries then booked on his new criminal charges. He was recently released from Imperial County Jail after a July 15 burglary arrest. The reason he was set free is unknown.
Monday, Aug. 27
11:28 a.m. A loitering violation occurred in the 13900 block of Edwards Road.
12:01 p.m. A bicycle theft was reported at La Mirada High School.
Tuesday, Aug. 28
4:00 p.m. A vehicle was reported stolen from the 15000 block of Rosalita Drive.
