Tony Aiello receives key endorsement in La Mirada council race

Aiello, Gramajo receive endorsements

LA MIRADA-    Longtime community activist Tony Aiello won the endorsement of the Association of Los Angeles Deputy Sheriff's (ALADS) in his bid to win the District One council seat in balloting next month.

Diane Gramajo also picked up an impotant endorsement this week from the Los Angeles County Democratic Party.

Gramajo is the only Latino running in the Latino majority district that comprises the Foster Park, Gardenhill Park, and Tacuba Drive areas.  She was unsuccessful in 2011 for a seat on the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School board.

Aiello operates the La Mirada Blog, co-founder of the once annual Olive Fest and a co-author of a book dedicated to the history of the city is now the presumed front runner after receiving the coveted endorsement by local Deputies and Sergeants.

Public Commision member Jim Emmerling and Planning Commission member John Lewis are also running for the District One seat.

February 20 is the deadline to register for the March 7th voting.
