LA MIRADA- Five people were hospitalized after being stabbed during a gang related fight early Saturday morning at a La Mirada sports bar.
Sheriff's deputies were dispatched at about 1:35 am. to a report of a fight that was escalating at Draft Picks Bar and Grill at 15854 Imperial Highway in the Green Hills Shopping Center.
Witnesses said a fight between rival gang members started inside the bar shortly before closing and moved outside as more people became involved.
One of the stabbing victims showed up a short time later at nearby Fire Station 15 on Santa Gertrudes Avenue seeking assistance, and was rushed a short time later to the UCI Medical Center trauma unit for treatment.
Detectives are still attempting to identify the suspects that left prior to the deputies arrival in a dark SUV similar to an Suburban eastbound towards the city of La Habra.
Authorities believe that some of the injured were not combatants, instead trying to intervene, and are expected to recover from their injuries.

ReplyDeleteWe are also troubled at the inaccurate reporting. Nothing occurred inside our establishment. Video surveillance clearly shows one male hiding in the parking lot for about 30 minutes and when a male customer left the location we was struck without provocation or warning while walking to his car in the parking lost. Quickly the fight grew and moved towards the west end of the parking lot about 150 yards from our location.
Probably Doyer fans......Damn beaners
ReplyDeleteI live in the near by area of Draft picks, and unfortunately you stated that the Person Attack came out of your Establishment....my concern is I could be targeted next time .I have had uncomfortable situations in Draft picks for being White and will No longer be going in there with my Friends and Family...It seems the clientele has changed and It doesn't look like a good Future For Draft Picks......
ReplyDeleteWhoever is throwing out the race card is wrong. I am white, my husband is white. My friends and I live 2 mins from DP's and havr never had a problem there. Yesterdays also in La Mirada has had stabbings as well as Scratch in La mirada. You cannot single out one bar and say whites shouldnt go there. It was obviously gang related but how truely bad are whittier/ la mitada gangs. It was probably a fight over something stupid like a sport or over a women. . Pull your head out of your asses people. Just because it was a fight doesnt mean it was race related. Name one bar in this area that you would truely feel safe in. I have had a knife pulled on me at Tubbys in La Habra for wearing a hells angels top from TARGET by a supposid Mongols member. No dive bar is safe. Thats why they are called dive bars people.
