LA MIRADA- Long awaited drainage and roadway improvements in the Foster Park annex that will bring the area up to city standards advanced one step further Tuesday with the selection of a contractor for the project.
The La Mirada Redevelopment Agency awarded a contract for the work to Sialic Contractors Corp. dba Shawnan for $4.7 million.
The neighborhoods west of Valley View Avenue experience regular street flooding, and are plagued with poor gutter drainage. Part of the project will see extension of a drainage line into the area and installation of more catch basins.
Many area streets are also slated for reconstruction, which will include gutter and sidewalk repairs, and installation of ADA compliant curb ramps.
