Heat Wave will grip La Mirada one more day
Drastic cool down will move in late Friday
Relief is on the way from a week of sweltering temperatures and sometimes oppressive humidity NWS forecasters say. The only catch is enduring another day.
Friday will usher in a modest cooling trend, but by Saturday temperatures are expected to have dropped by as much as 25 degrees into the low 70's.
The normal daytime high is 86 for this date, which was eclipsed by the daytime high Wednesday of 92, following Tuesday's 97.

Overnight: Partly cloudy and calm wind. Low 68.
Thursday: Mostly sunny and hot. Calm wind becoming west southwest between 5 and 10 mph. High 96.
Thursday night: Mostly clear. West southwest wind between 5 and 10 mph becoming calm. Low 62.
Friday: Sunny. Calm wind becoming south southwest between 5 and 10 mph. High 87.
