Update: Skateboarder hit on Imperial Hwy earlier this week remains unidentified

East Whittier-   The Sheriff's Department has made a second appeal to the public in helping them identify a teenage boy who was hit late Monday morning at about 11:42 a.m., crossing a busy roadway on his skateboard.

Sheriff's officials stated in a post on twitter that he is about 15-years-old White or Hispanic and was crossing Imperial Hwy going north from La Mirada and into Unincorporated East Whittier and was hit by a westbound pickup truck.  The driver remained at the scene and has cooperated with

The boy was rushed to the trauma unit at UCI Medical Center in Irvine, and his condition or prognosis is unknown.

Today the Sheriff's Dept released pictures of the shoes the boy had been wearing as well and several pictures of the skateboard he was riding in hopes someone might recognize the articles.

CHP/Santa Fe Springs is the agency handling the investigation, and anyone with information should call ( 562 868-0503) 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, The office is closed all day Sunday. After hours call the CHP dispatcher at (323) 259-3200.:
