pair of unrelated accidents on Imperial Hwy that sent three people to the hospital with injuries.

At 11:11 a.m. a motorist traveling northbound in a black SUV (pictured below) on Santa Gertrudes Ave slammed into the rear of an SUV van as while entering the intersection at Imperial Hwy sending the van spinning out of control and into a third motorist.

The man driving the car that was rear-ended, and one of the occupants of the black SUV were taken to local hospitals with minor injuries. The driver of the third vehicle was not injured.

Several hours earlier just a 1/4 of a mile to the west a pedestrian was hospitalized after being struck by a car attempting to cross Imperial Hwy at Oxford Drive.  No additional details were immediately available about the accident that was dispatched at 8:20 a.m.

The driver of the third vehicle involved is seen in the upper right.  The driver of this Silver Jeep escaped injury.
