Five suspects arrested after driving by La Mirada donut shop they just robbed

La Mirada-   Five robbery suspects were arrested early Sunday after robbing donut shops in La Mirada and Santa Fe Springs ten minutes apart.

The first robbery was reported at 4:16 a.m. at the Yum Yum Donuts at 13471 Telegraph Road in Santa Fe Springs. The five male suspects all entered the store and simulated a weapon under clothing an fled with a woman's purse and cash.

Four of the same suspects then entered a donut shop in the 15700 block of Imperial Hwy about 4:25 a.m. and while one suspect simulated he had a handgun under his shirt while the others struck the victim, then fled with cash and lottery tickets

No one was seriously injured in either incident

Less than 115 minutes after the second robbery a Sheriff's Sergeant spotted a truck driving in the same area that the La Mirada robbery had occurred in with five occupants that matched the descriptions given to deputies and began following. 

The men were taken into custody after a stop was made on Beach Blvd north of Rosecrans Ave.

Whittier Police are assisting in the investigation.
