Cooler weather expected by Friday

Relief is approaching.

A nice cool blast of air is on the way from the Northwest which forecaster's promise wiill soon bring an end to the heat that topped out at 90 degrees today in La Mirada.

Friday will usher in the return of nature's air conditioning, better known as the coastal marine layer.

But the catch is the La Mirada area will have to endure another day of suffocating humidity and near 90 degree day.

Tonight will be warm and sticky again with temps staying in the 70's before heading back towards the 90-degree mark Thursday.

The weekend will remain warm with daytime highs in the low 80's. The most noticeable change will be the departure of the sticky monsoonal flow.
