Heat Wave sends La Mirada temp to 110

Gradual cooling replaced by humidity will begin Tuesday

LA MIRADA- A heat wave gripping Southern California sent the mercury higher than forecast today hitting the 100 degree mark shortly after 11 a.m. and 110 shortly after 2 p.m.

The National Weather Service office in Oxnard says it will start to gradually cool off tomorrow, but a southeasterly flow will pump moisture into the area, bringing the possibility of showers and thunderstorms and the certainty of increased stickiness.

Forecast issued Monday Sept 27 at 1:15 p.m.

Tonight: Mostly clear. West wind between 5 and 10 mph becoming calm. Low 69.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny and hot. East southeast wind around 5 mph becoming southwest. High 96.

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Low 63.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny. Calm wind becoming west southwest between 5 and 10 mph. Low 91.
