Fall begins with Summer-like heat wave


Daytime highs could hit triple digits early next week

A typical early fall heat wave began to take hold Friday and temperatures could go well above the 100 degree mark before a cooling trend begins in the middle of next week.

Friday's high in La Mirada was 96 following an overnight low of 57. The average temperatures for today are 84 and a low temperature of 61.

Forecast issued Friday Sept. 24, 12:16 p.m.

Tonight: Clear. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming east. Low 60.

Saturday: Sunny and hot. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph. High 97.

Saturday Night: Clear. West wind between 5 and 10 mph becoming calm. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph. Low 64.

Sunday: Sunny and hot. Calm wind becoming west southwest between 5 and 10 mph. High 98.
