$10,000 taken in South Whittier convenience store robbery

SOUTH WHITTIER- Deputies are investigating a Monday morning robbery at a South Whittier convenience store that resulted in a loss of over $10,000 in cash.

Shortly after 11 a.m. a male Hispanic in his early 20's with spikey hair approached an employee at the 7-11 store at Leffingwell Road and Valley View Avenue and took the store's cash receipts by force. A weapon was not seen by the victim.

The store is equipped with security cameras, however the were inoperable at the time of the crime
